Helen Steiner Rice had a tremendous impact on individuals during her lifetime. Her poetry and kindness touched people in their hearts, promoted a sense of inner peace. Her positive attitude, her joy in living, and her love of God spread happiness wherever she went and wherever her poetry was read. Through the Helen Steiner Rice Foundation, this influence continued, even after her death in 1981. The impact of Mrs. Rice's poetry is thriving. Thousands of people read her poetry daily via greeting cards and books. The Daily Devotional is a favorite product resting on desks and night stands everywhere and, for the reader, opening each day with an inspiring verse, thought and Bible passage. Other products such as calendars, bookmarks, plaques, magnets, cotton afghans and coffee mugs bring Helen Steiner Rice's poetry to life and into many homes. The Foundation is able to award grants to the elderly, poor and needy due, in part, to the royalties from the sale of these items.

In recent years funding for a wide variety of programs has been granted. Programs dealing with technological advances for the disabled, scholarship awards for the needy, educational incentives for the underserved, emergency assistance for the poor and outreach programs for the elderly all have received grants from the Foundation to carry on Mrs. Rice's wishes to assist those in need.

Her compassion and understanding continue to have a positive impact on people due to her foresight in establishing this Foundation.
